Discover Ancient Egypt & be surprised

Join Divergent Travel Trips for our second group trip to Egypt! This will be our fifth visit and we can’t wait for you to join us.

Spend 10 days of full immersion in the natural, cultural, and architectural wonders of this small country with us on this custom-built itinerary that you will not find anywhere else.

We’ve done the leg work, worked out the kinks, and discarded the things that are too commercial or not worth visiting. We’ve added things to our itinerary that are often not included, overlooked, or just plain off the beaten path. Of course, we added the best parts, too.

Our trip will be operated in partnership with one of the leading local tour companies. This means we’ll have access to some of the best guides in Egypt.

We have traveled with them in the past and have worked closely with them to develop this special itinerary so you can experience the best this country has to offer.

The highlights of this trip include a visit to the Pyramids of Giza – one of the ancient Wonders of the World, Abu Simbel, the Valley of the Kings, sailing down the Nile River, along with some stops that will surely surprise you.

We’ll traverse the entire length of the Nile River from Cairo to Abu Simbel and back again.

Daily activities include sightseeing, cruising, cultural experiences, and plenty of photo stops.

Special to this year: We will be hosting a 5d/4n All Inclusive Pre-Trip to Siwa Oasis! This is an optional add-on, but if you have the time, we highly recommend you consider joining us.

Trip Perks

If you’re looking for a trip to Egypt that includes all of the highlights, along with some lesser-known gems, this itinerary is for you.

Our trips include ALL extra activities, day trips, and entrance fees. We’ve also hand-selected lovely 5-star hotels.

Cairo International Airport (CAI) is the largest international airport in the country and you should book your flights to and from this airport.

Airport transfers to our starting hotel in Cairo are included.

Cairo offers visas on arrival for most passports. The cost is $50 USD and you obtain the visa at the airport prior the going through immigration in Cairo. Detailed instructions on how to and where to do this will be sent before the trip. It’s easy!

Late November is well into Fall, so we’ll be past the hottest part of the dry season and into the cooler months. You’ll want to have layers as you can expect it to be warm and sunny during the day, cooling off at night.

We hand-select each and every property that is used for our trips. Trust us when we say we only want the best for you! On this trip, we’ll be staying in five different 5* luxury properties that offer prime locations in Egypt. This is a high end trip.

Room sharing – if you are traveling solo and select the shared room option, we will do our best to pair you with someone of the same gender. We’ll do our best to pair you with someone we think you’ll click with based on your signup forms.

We cannot guarantee that you’ll mesh well with your assigned roommate. This is very rare, but it does sometimes happen.

Things to Consider – If you like your own space after a day of group traveling, are a light sleeper, or snore, sharing may not be a good fit for you.

In the event that you are incompatible with your assigned roommate and need to change rooms, your trip host will either swap shared rooming arrangements or work with the hotel to get you a solo room. Please note that if you have to switch to a solo room, you will be subject to a solo supplement.

If you sign up for a shared room and we are unable to pair you with another solo shared traveler before the trip starts, your booking may become a solo booking. If this happens, we will notify you and the single supplement will apply.

If you do not want to share, it is possible to have your own room with the additional fee of a single supplement.

Note: this option is limited.

It is possible to have a solo private room but this option is limited. The cost to have a solo private room for the whole trip is an additional $1500.

This tour is rated Moderate. There will be some long walking days around temple complexes and pyramids. To really enjoy the tour you should at least be prepared for some long walks in outdoor settings.

Yes, we have some down time built into the schedule if you’d like to explore some on your own or just relax at the hotels.

Egypt has great cell service, so if you have a roaming plan, you’ll have no problem being connected. It’s also possible to buy SIM cards and local data packages at the airport in Cairo.

Once you arrive in Cairo your airport transfers, accommodation, activities, and transport are included. You will need money to cover meals, gratuities for our local guide, beverages at all meals (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and any souvenirs.
