Welcome to Morocco!

Your Moroccan adventure begins in Casablanca, the country’s bustling economic capital. Upon arrival, you’ll be met at the Casablanca International Airport and transferred to our hotel for free time before joining our welcome dinner.

Depending on your arrival time, you may wish to stretch your legs with a walk along the Corniche, a coastal boulevard lined with cafes and ocean views. Perhaps visit the Hassan II Mosque from the outside, an architectural marvel perchedon the edge of the Atlantic, and one of the largest mosques in the world.

Overnight: Beautiful 5* Hotel in Casablanca

We will depart Casablanca in the morning and head to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital. Together we will explore highlights such as the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower, symbols of Moroccan heritage and modern statehood. We’ll take a walk through the charming Kasbah of the Udayas overlooking the Bou Regreg River.

After lunch, we will continue our journey north into the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the famed “Blue Pearl.” Enjoy a peaceful evening strolling its blue-washed medina and relaxing in a tranquil mountain setting.

Overnight: Beautiful 4* Riad in Chefchaouen (B)

After a leisurely breakfast, we will depart Chefchaouen and head south through the scenic countryside. We’ll stop at Volubilis, the ancient Roman city with well-preserved mosaics, columns, and ruins that offer a glimpse into Morocco’s deep historical roots. From here, we will continue to Fes, the country’s cultural and spiritual capital.

We will arrive by late afternoon and settle into our riad inside the medina.

Overnight: 4* Riad in Fes (B)

Today we will step back in time with a guided tour of Fes el-Bali, one of the world’s oldest medieval cities. We’ll navigate its 9,000 alleyways, visit the Al-Qarawiyyin University, explore the intricate architecture of Bou Inania Madrasa, and witness the vibrant Chouara Tannery. We’ll also discover artisan workshops producing traditional ceramics, leather, and metalwork. We’ll end the day with panoramic views from the Merenid Tombs before returning to our riad.

Overnight: 4* Riad in Fes (B)

Today we leave Fes and ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop in Ifrane, known for its Swiss-like architecture, and continue through cedar forests near Azrou, where Barbary macaques roam.

Then we’ll pass through the mineral-rich town of Midelt and travel along the scenic Ziz Valley before reaching Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara. Settle into your hotel at the edge of the dunes and prepare for the desert experience.

Overnight: Luxury Desert Camp in the Sahara Desert (B-D)

Today will be a special day as we spend the entire day immersed in the magic of the Sahara. We’ll visit a local village to hear traditional Gnaoua music, meet nomadic families living in the harsh desert terrain, and explore fossil beds and seasonal oasis in the rocky Hamada.

In the late afternoon, mount a camel for a ride into the golden Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the sunset from the sand and spend the night in a desert camp under the stars, enjoying Berber hospitality and drumming by the fire.

Overnight: Luxury Desert Camp in the Sahara Desert (B-L-D)

We will rise early for a desert sunrise and then depart Merzouga after breakfast. Leaving the desert behind, we will visit the lively market town of Rissani before driving toward the spectacular Todra Gorges.

Upon arrival, we’ll take a walk through the towering canyon walls before continuing through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its winding roads and dramatic rock formations.

Overnight: Beautiful 4* Riad in Dades Valley (B-D)

Departing the Dades Valley, we’ll head west through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate, the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Here we’ll visit the film studios or Taourirt Kasbah before visiting Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar famous for its cinematic backdrop. We’ll explore its maze of earthen buildings before continuing over the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass.

This evening, we’ll arrive in Marrakech.

Overnight: Beautiful 4* Riad in Marrakech (B)

Today we will discover the vibrant heart of Marrakech on a guided city tour. We will begin at the Koutoubia Mosque and visit the beautiful Bahia Palace with its intricate tilework and lush gardens. We’ll wander the labyrinthine souks filled with carpets, spices, and artisans at work. Then visit the historic Ben Youssef Madrasa and relax in the serene Majorelle Garden if time permits. Our tour will conclude in the bustling Jemaa el-Fna square, where performers, storytellers, and food vendors create a sensory feast.

Tonight we’ll gather for a farewell dinner and enjoy Marrakech!

Late April is the transition season, so the weather will be pleasant for exploring. You’ll want to have layers as you can expect it to be warm and sunny during the day, cooling off at night.

We hand-select each and every property that is used for our trips. Trust us when we say we only want the best for you! On this trip, we’ll be staying in a variety of 4* Riads, hotels and luxury desert camp properties that offer prime locations across Morocco. They all offer private bathrooms.

Room sharing – if you are traveling solo and select the shared room option, we will do our best to pair you with someone of the same gender. We’ll do our best to pair you with someone we think you’ll click with based on your signup forms.

We cannot guarantee that you’ll mesh well with your assigned roommate. This is very rare, but it does sometimes happen.

Things to Consider – If you like your own space after a day of group traveling, are a light sleeper, or snore, sharing may not be a good fit for you.

In the event that you are incompatible with your assigned roommate and need to change rooms, your trip host will either swap shared rooming arrangements or work with the hotel to get you a solo room. Please note that if you have to switch to a solo room, you will be subject to a solo supplement.

If you sign up for a shared room and we are unable to pair you with another solo shared traveler before the trip starts, your booking may become a solo booking. If this happens, we will notify you and the single supplement will apply.

If you do not want to share, it is possible to have your own room with the additional fee of a single supplement.

Note: this option is limited.

It is possible to have a solo private room but this option is limited. The cost to have a solo private room for the whole trip is an additional $1000.

This tour is rated Moderate. There will be some long driving days and some easy hiking. To really enjoy the tour you should at least be prepared for some long walks in outdoor settings.

Yes, we have some down time built into the schedule if you’d like to explore some on your own or just relax at the hotels.

Morocco has cell service, so if you have a roaming plan, you’ll will be able to be connected. Our hotels will also offer internet. When we’re in the mountains, the Sahara Desert, and at remote villages, it’s best to expect there will be no internet or data services.

Once you arrive in Morocco your airport transfers, accommodation, activities, and transport are included. You will need money to cover non-included meals, gratuities for our local guides, beverages at all meals (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), and any souvenirs.
